Client Story
Ceylon Herbal Teas Co. is a niche premium organic beverage brand headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Unlike mass-market beverage factories, it focuses on small-batch, high-quality herbal tea drinks that combine Ceylon black tea with local botanical ingredients such as turmeric, cinnamon, roselle and gotu kola. Its target channels include five-star hotels, high-end organic supermarkets and tourist souvenir shops, where product flavor, nutritional retention and formula diversity are far more important than ultra-high output.
Before partnering with Allylinkmachine, the brand tried small workshop-style production, but faced persistent problems: unstable extraction quality, difficulty in controlling microbial indicators, and inability to scale up while retaining the natural aroma of herbs. The brand needed a production solution that was flexible, food-safe, and gentle on active herbal ingredients, rather than a standard high-volume line.
The Unique Challenge
- Diverse formulas, small batches: 12 different herbal formulas need to be produced alternately, with each batch ranging from 500L to 2000L. Traditional large-scale lines cause huge raw material waste during changeover.
- Strict flavor & nutrition requirements: High-temperature processing will destroy the unique aroma of Ceylon tea and the active ingredients of herbs, requiring low-temperature processing technology.
- Limited plant space: The client’s production plant is located in an urban industrial park with limited area, requiring compact and modular equipment layout.
Our Customized Craft Solution
Instead of providing a standard mass-production line, Allylinkmachine’s technical team designed a modular, flexible production solution centered on low-temperature gentle processing, based on the client’s formula characteristics and channel positioning.
The core process route is: Raw material sorting → low-temperature vacuum extraction → fine filtration → low-temperature batching → pasteurization → aseptic cold filling → finished product inspection
Key customized configurations:
- Multi-functional modular extraction unit: Equipped with 2 sets of 1000L vacuum extraction tanks, which can operate independently or in series, supporting separate extraction of different herbal raw materials to avoid flavor mixing. The low-temperature extraction process works at 60–70℃ under vacuum environment, maximally retaining volatile aromatic substances and active ingredients in herbs.
- Precise low-temperature batching system: Stainless steel batching tanks with temperature control function, supporting accurate proportioning of concentrated herbal liquid, pure water and a small amount of organic sweetener, avoiding flavor damage caused by high-temperature blending.
- Low-temperature pasteurization + aseptic cold filling: Replacing traditional high-temperature UHT and hot filling with low-temperature long-time pasteurization and aseptic cold filling technology, which preserves the natural taste and color of herbal tea to the greatest extent.
- Quick-changeover design: Quick-connect pipeline design and independent CIP cleaning modules reduce cross-flavor contamination, and formula changeover can be completed within 40 minutes.

Client Quote
“We interviewed 5 equipment suppliers before, and all of them only recommended standard high-capacity lines that didn’t fit our business at all. Allylinkmachine is the only one that really listened to our needs and designed a solution around our organic positioning and small-batch model. The low-temperature extraction process perfectly preserves the natural aroma of Ceylon tea and herbs, which is exactly what our high-end customers value most. This is not just a production line, it is the core support for our brand to build a premium image.”
